“Moore” which was culled from the Yoruba language (one of the prominent Nigerian languages), depicts GRATITUDE. Originally pronounced “More-ho-ray,” when voiced in Yoruba, but pronounced “More,” when voiced as the brand name, Moore.
The Moore Brand sources 85% of its raw materials from Nigeria and Africa; each product, an invitation to become MOORE!
The Journey
Our Story
Moore Organics was founded by Adebisi Odeleye in 2016, following a personal experience while she was pregnant with her first child.
The pregnancy took a toll on her skin, and as her pregnancy progressed, her skin got even worse. She tried different skincare solutions, which only aggravated the already sensitive skin.
She had more questions than the answers that were available, as to why chemical based products were frontliners in the skincare industry and decided she was going to research for alternatives specifically for her and her budding family at the time.
6 years down the line, with hardwork, persistence, continuous research and community support, a sustainable sourced and family friendly brand has been birth with a wide range of products; using some naturally sourced butters and plant oils with strained variety of fruit peels (rich in essential vitamins for the skin).
MOORE, originally started as DIY approch with no large scale commercial intent, the brand has however grown from a capital of N500naira ($1.36) worth of shea butter, to six figures, with presence in countries across Africa and certified memebers on the team.
The Moore team have received diverse trainings from cosmetics science experts in and outside Nigeria, received a World Bank Scholarship, Grant from USA Consulate Lagos and most recently identified as one of the top 54 Women in Africa through this social enterprise.
